To link various elements such as destinations, elevators, stairs, or paths, you can create path nodes. These nodes allow for a flexible and precise connection between the individual elements. There are two methods to create these nodes:

Method 1: Via Drag-and-Drop

  1. Select the path element: Drag and drop the path element from [G] onto the floor plan.

  2. Place the node: Place the path element at the desired location on the floor. This node acts as an intermediate point and connects different destinations with each other.

Method 2: Direct Clicking on an Element

  1. Select an element: Click on an already placed element on the floor plan, whether it's a destination, a path, an elevator, or a stair.

  2. Create a node: After clicking on the element, blue dots appear around the element. These dots represent possible nodes.

  3. Move the node: Click on one of the blue dots and drag it to the desired location. You hold the node with the mouse. Release it to create the node at the desired position.

  4. Connect elements: To connect two elements, drag the node from one element to another and release it on the second element. This creates a direct connection between the two elements.

Edit Elements

In the Wayfinding system, you can edit placed elements both directly on the floor plan and in the element list on the right side under the element types [G]. Here is how to edit or delete elements:

Select an element:

  • You can click on an element directly on the floor plan or select it from the list on the right under the element types [G]. The selected element is highlighted to clearly show which element you are currently editing.

Edit an element:

  • To edit an element, click the pencil icon. This opens the same window that was used when creating the element. Here you can change all the previously made settings, such as the name of the element, the assigned asset, or the group to which it is assigned.

Delete an element:

  • To remove an element, click the trash can icon. The element will then be deleted and removed from both the list and the floor plan.
