What is Eliona?

Eliona is a Smart Building Platform based on Microservices. Each Microservice is built and deployed as a cluster through our DevOps processes with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. The entire infrastructure of the cluster is described using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code). The cluster can be deployed on dedicated hardware, virtual machines or in containerized environments. The individual microservices communicate with each other using the Apache Kafka Event-Streaming-Platform. The Eliona UI is accessed using the load balancer Traefik. The UI makes its data available in encrypted form using NGINX web server. Our PostgreSQL cluster with TimescaleDB extension makes its data available to the UI using Debezium and Apache Zookeeper via our REST API. Our caching infrastructure is based on Redis. For external communication, Eliona offers various interfaces, e.g. REST or MQTT. The Eliona REST API provides unified access to the resources and data of an Eliona environment.
Interfaces
Our extensive expertise in establishing digital infrastructures allows us to understand the most varied of protocols and systems, and to incorporate them into Eliona. This includes classic OT (Operation Technology) and IT (Information Technology) protocols, as well as information from IoT sensors and actors.
This makes Eliona an intelligent hub of vastly different systems, which distinguishes it from pure IoT platforms.
